Dad and Carmen got married on Saturday! Noella, Carmen's sister, said it was the happiest she's seen Carmen... EVER! The wedding was probably the most touching I've ever been to.
Carmen gave Dad an eagle feather - a very high honour indeed - instead of a wedding band and also for his work in aboriginal communities and also just for being who he is. She calls him her Grey Bear. Jay was Dad's best man! In his speech he said, "Yah, I've known Dave for about the past 25 and a half years." He also said that Dad has all the qualities that he strives to have as a man.
Nancy, Carmen's musician friend, played at the end of the reception and had Carmen up at the front playing her mandolin. Also, Nancy called up my cousin Kaitlin because she's a stand-up comedian. Kaitlin was not prepared! And, she pulled a very funny little "observation" out of her hat. It was a hilarious, awkward moment. Had to be there. Oh, and we had some special guests:

Grandma came!!! This made us all very very happy!

AND... Connor came!!! He's my little cousin, diagnosed with autism. It was his first wedding and he was amazing! He giggled a bit during the ceremony but he knew that when he couldn't stop giggling that he had to leave the room so he left very discreetly. He loved the music during the reception. Look at Sara (also my cousin)... she's gorgeous.
That's all. Congratulations Dad and Carmen!
