Auntie Poop

The Roebuck nephews and nieces call Peter, "Uncle PeePoo", but I'd like to claim rights to this name too.

Once when Rhys was just a little baby, I was holding him and he pooped the grossest, greenest poop down his leg (he was just wearing a onesie). Jon was there to coach me, saying things like, "Hold him away from you!" And, "Put him on the table, put him on the table!"

Then, when Carys was a wee baby, the same thing happened.

THEN, when Delyth was just three days old, the first time I met her, I held her for a few minutes and sure enough, soon I felt warm and wet all over my tummy and arm.

Now I've gained a reputation in the Tenthorey household for my magical powers.

Last Friday, Ben and I stopped by to visit those lovely Tenthoreys. Janie handed me Delyth right when we walked in the door. She said she was glad I was there because Delyth hadn't pooped in three days and she really really needed to. I felt so privileged - like I was needed. I had been holding her for about half an hour, when I felt a whole lot of rumbling and a few little explosions. I had done it again - three days worth!

I think I've found my superpower.

Remind me when we have babies not to let her hold them too much...we want children, not raisins.

You HAVE found your superpower! I am so proud. You should be on HEROES.

And to the Tenthoreys....are they using Pampers? 'Cause I find Huggies let the leaks out but Pampers don't.

Hey Mary...

Poo doesn't seem so gross when it's coming from your little one... What great fun to look forward to! Thanks for keeping your blog up and running we love to check it. It seems blogs are going the way of the buffalo (facebook's fault?)

Love you two!
